This Chapel is
dedicated to the Sacred Heart, whose statue is flanked by those of Saints
George, John, Mary Magdelene and Hugh of Lincoln.
The stone altar is one of the many gifts made to Saint Mary's by the Honourable Mrs Fraser. A tablet records her gift as a memorial to her husband. The windows in the Chapel were installed by T.A. Young and the thanks of a grateful people are recorded on a plaque. The chapel used to be separated from the main church by a carved wooden screen. Its position can still be seen in the plaster on the wall and by the strange placing of the radiator! |
