No one is really sure but the story is that Boudicca, fearing what might happen, killed herself by drinking poison. Later, even the mighty Roman Empire began to weaken and it was attacked by barbarians and the legions left Britain to help defend Rome.

The Romans remained in Britain for nearly four hundred years and, even when the legions left, many Romans remained as they had made homes for themselves in Britain. The Romans have left us many reminders of their influence upon Britain and the world. These include place names language, myths and legends and buildings and architecture.
