This gurudwara
in the Jewellery Quarter was converted from a former Elim Tabernacle which Sikhs
bought in 1970. Much repair and restoration has been done as voluntary work
by the congregation.
Ramgarhia are a group within orthodox Sikhism, originally mostly of the carpenter
caste in India and deriving their name from the Ramgarh Fort in Armritsar, captured
by Jassa Singh Ramgarhia in the early 19th Century.
