Aims and objectives
These units of work support the development of the Science strand, Physical processes - light. The key issues investigated are reflection, absorption and shadows through a number of practical experiments ranging from growing seeds to making a pinhole camera.

Previous knowledge
It is expected that the resources in this activity will be teacher-led and that some prior introduction to the themes have already taken place. Substantive teacher notes are included in the worksheets to support the prior knowledge required.

In the classroom
The downloadable PDF files contain a variety of worksheets aimed at developing children's understanding and appreciation of light. In addition, the files contain extensive teacher notes and photocopyable records aimed at classroom usage.
