'The jury
present Lancelot Gamblyn lately of Stratford Langthorne, starchmaker,
because by his unlawful making of starch such a stink and ill-favour
continue and daily arise so that the liege subjects of the present
King along the highway in Statford Langthorne are not able to come
and go as accustomed without great danger to their lives through the
loathsome smell'.
